Your crowning glory
Wedding hair from £45 +
MANY brides spend months, even years, planning their wedding look and it’s important to remember that longer hair will give you many more styling options - the average head of hair grows six inches a year so you need to allow your hair time to grow to the desired length. Have regular trims to ensure that hair is healthy in the runup to the big day and give your locks a boost with intensive conditioning treatments: Bouffant offers L’Oreal Powerdose for highlighted, coloured or natural hair which lasts for 2-3 weeks – so your hair will be smooth and glossy throughout the honeymoon too.
The style of veil, tiara or hat that you plan to wear will dictate to a certain extent what styles will be achievable, and your stylist will work with you to create a style that complements both you and your headpiece. Senior stylists Shantel and Holly say it’s important to gather as much information as possible before you go to the salon for your trial: “It’s a good idea to be able to say what you want and what you don’t want: the stylist can advise you from there. We recommend a practice session two weeks before the wedding so if there is anything the bride is unhappy with we can resolve it well in advance.” says Holly. Hair doesn’t always have to be washed, set and put up – it’s often best to wash your hair the day before you go to the salon so it’s easier for the stylist to work with, says Shantel: “If you have any ornamental pins or grips, bring those along as well so we can practice the whole look.”
